Anke Roder
(German/Dutch, University of Arts in Maastricht and ‘s-Hertogensbosch)
Always uses her natural environment as the subject for her works. That is usually the coast of the Wadden Sea nerby her home in the North of the Netherlands, or it simply is her beautiful garden. Anke has made a name for herself with her encaustic paintings, one of the oldest painting techniques in which pigments are included in beeswax. Besides that, Anke makes collages of the flora around her, making wonderful use of antique documents and magazines.
