Maeve van Klaveren

Is a relative late bloomer. She obtained her Bachelor of Fashion & Textile Technologies at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute and then worked for textile artist Claudie Jongstra for over a decade. Yet as an artist Maeve is mainly self-taught and – perhaps precisely because of this – developed a phenomenal drawing technique that hardly reveals itself to the viewer. Her drawings in chalk, pencil and watercolor paint are extremely refined and understated.
