Max Kisman
(NL 1953 / AKI and Gerrit Rietveld Academy)
Max (1953) is a much sought-after illustrator for the major daily Dutch newspapers. In his discipline he is an absolute world star. In the eightees, after completing art schools in Enschede and Amsterdam, Max became a pioneer with digital design and typography. He worked for Dutch broadcaster VPRO and internet magazine WIRED. Taught at the Rietveld Academy, the HKU and the Jan van Eyck Academy. His illustration work is designed by hand and elaborated digitally, but Max draws daily in his diary and focuses on free work more and more.
